Saint Edward Catholic Church is a 11,681 square foot cube-shaped structure that uses a solid base topped with a “glass lens” enclosing the sanctuary below. Primary roof structure is provided by Douglas-fir glulam arches which march the length of the church toward the sanctuary, allowing for soaring heights while creating a sense of warmth. The glulam was fabricated just a half mile from the project site; contractors used other locally-sourced wood components to reduce cost and improve environmental efficiency.
